Welcome!

We’re so glad you’re here—and soon, we’ll be even more grateful to share space in person with you. Like many of our connections these days, this celebration began online—just like our story. But the heart of it lives offline, and we’re beyond excited to bring everyone together to share time in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Expect vibrant nature, good food, deep connection, and moments that remind us how special it is to be together—face to face, under the sky, in celebration of love and everything ahead.

We can’t wait to share this time with you.

With love,
Eric and Pattanee

Our Story

Like many modern love stories, ours started online—with a Hinge match and no expectations beyond a friendly meet-up. Pattanee had just arrived in L.A., looking for a bit of local insight (and maybe a Vipassana retreat). Eric had a few ideas—but suggested discussing over dinner instead of texts.

Dinner turned into hikes, Universal Studios, and long conversations that quietly shifted into something unmistakable. A true connection was forming.

Season 1 Highlights:
Ep1: We met. We walked. We clicked.
Ep2: First family meeting (Hi Lynn & Sophia!)
Ep3: First international trip together—Thailand, of course. Met Pattanee’s friends and  family.
Ep4: Eric’s 50th birthday, with family in town (Hi Lynn & Peggy!).
Ep5: A Thanksgiving retreat in Kernville confirmed what we both felt: this was real.
Ep6: Minnesota snow, laughter, and an engagement (Oof da!).
Ep7: Moving in, planning a wedding, and building a home together.
Ep8: Season finale: a celebration of love in Chiang Mai, surrounded by the people who matter most.

Season 2?
Still unscripted—but expect love, adventure, late-night “peanut butter monster” snacks, and whatever life throws our way. We’re in it for the long arc.

We’re so glad you’re a part of this story.

Weather Forecast for December in Chiang Mai. • December is winter in Thailand, but it’s still very sunny and warm most of the day. Temperature is likely to be 66-85 degree. Temperature at night time and early morning can be chilly. Please pack accordingly.
US Citizens can travel to Thailand with only a valid passport with at least 6 months remaining prior to expiration. Additional information about the Thailand Visa program can be found at the US Embassy and Consulate website.
Helpful information about travel to Thailand from the United States can be found on the US State Department website.
At the time of this writing in July, there is a border skirmish between Thailand and Cambodia. It is largely sabre rattling, however there have been reports of civilian injuries and a few deaths. Such activities are remote relative to the location of the wedding. (The Thailand/Cambodia border is over 500 miles/800km away from Chiang Mai province.)
Cash remains king in Thailand. Cards and digital tools like Apple or Google Wallet are used  in larger hotels and businesses, but typically at a reduced exchange rate - often 10% or more.
Currency for the region is the Thai Baht (฿).  For travelers from outside the country, it is advisable to use crisp, large denomination bills to ensure best rate of exchange. (e.g. $100 USD or €100 Euro notes) Surprising, but yes that matters
A useful website and app for exchange rate information is available at xe.com
Value added tax of 7% is refundable for tourist when you shop 2,000 baht or over.

For mobile phone services, tourist SIM card with unlimited data package and other options are available at the airport. They usually provide a physical SIM, and you can tell them to change to digital SIM (eSIM). There are some websites and apps that sell eSIM for international as well. Your mileage may vary with those. We have had better success with the airport SIM card. Alternatively, your phone provider may have discounted roaming rates or partnerships with carriers providing flat rate pricing. Check with your carrier. (Verizon is usually $10/day for unlimited, so buying an eSIM is considerably cheaper.)

If you do not plan to rent a car, or even if you do, you can download Grab mobile app to get a ride/food delivery.
